*HIRING BONUS: $750!*Residential Support Specialist Program ManagerAvalon Housing is a non-profit supportive housing provider created in 1992 as a long-term solution to homelessness. Avalon owns and operates apartments at sites throughout Ann Arbor, manages rent vouchers with private landlords, and partners with both the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Housing Commission to provide housing alternatives for formerly homeless adults and families throughout Washtenaw County.The Residential Support Specialist (RSS) Team provides 24/7 support services at our single-site residential programs including Miller Manor, N. Ashley and Hickory Way. The individuals served by this position face many challenges including multi morbid conditions, mental illness, substance abuse disorders, and/or chronic medical conditions alongside a history of chronic homelessness. The RSS position provides a wide array of services to support housing stability including guest monitoring, crisis intervention and de-escalation, apartment cleaning, laundry support, skills coaching, medication administration, as well as transportation to appointmentsThe RSS Program Manager is the primary supervisor for all RSS staff working within our 24/7 residential sites and is responsible for the oversight of RSS program operations. They collaborate closely with the program Team Leaders to holistically support our residential programs and maintain a flexible schedule, including a weekend rotation, to accommodate the after-hours support needs of program staff.Job Responsibilities:The RSS Program Manager is responsible for key administrative functions of the RSS program including onboarding, scheduling, training compliance, payroll, and after-hours support. Job duties include:
  • Coordinate interview and hiring of new RSS staff
  • Support onboarding of new RSS staff and refresher trainings as needed
  • Provide hands-on modeling and coaching with RSS staff
  • Scheduling and coordination of required training
  • Facilitate RSS team meetings
  • Provide one on one supervision to RSS staff
  • Maintain consistent presence and engagement with RSS staff across shifts at all sites
  • Monitor program compliance including training and adherence to policies
  • Oversee 24-7 program schedule including weekly staff hours, time-off requests, call-offs, etc.
  • Bi-weekly payroll reconciliation
  • Monitoring of program compliance including training requirements of RSS staff
  • Collaborate with team leader on staff performance and development needs
  • Attend staff meetings, retreats and professional training sessions
Supplemental Job Duties:
  • Work with clients as needed in their homes, in community centers, and in the larger community
  • Attend staff meetings, retreats and professional training sessions
Required Qualifications
  • Two years working with similar populations, including people who are homeless, people with mental illness, chronic health, and/or addiction disorders
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff from various backgrounds
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required by programs and staffing needs including evening and occasional weekend hours
Desired Qualifications & Experience
  • Flexibility in a highly dynamic environment, with a proven track record of successfully multi-tasking
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly effective personal organization skills
  • Excellent written, oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with scheduling, planning, and other office-based software such as Google Workspace, ADP, Homebase is required
  • Excellent listening and information gathering skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to take initiative, as well as ability to work as part of a team
  • Enjoys performing a support role that enables other staff to perform at their best
  • Ability to understand and adhere to all Privacy and Confidentiality policies
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and logistics is preferred
  • Customer Service or Administrative Assistance background and experience preferred
