The Carrier Account Executive plans, schedules, coordinates and analyzes the efficient distribution of freight to multiple carriers. He or she is responsible for the recruitment and management of the trucking companies that work for RFG companies.
Recruits carriers to work with RFG companies
Maintains communication with trucking companies and current drivers/dedicated carriers
Works to cover loads that are currently in the system
Communicates effectively with team members and if/when issues take place with carriers or loads that have already been dispatched
Improves business results for all inventory related criteria
Leverages and implements best practices driving continuous inventory improvements
Communicates extensively with customers for inventory needs
Communicates proactively with internal customers by providing acurate and timely information on carrier needs
Broker loads out to carriers that are completing hauls for RFG
Updates drivers on plant hours, delivery appointments, updates or changes to load information
Performs other duties as assigned.
Represents a critical on-site presence to internal customers and maintains a proper professional approach in all types of interaction
Keeps current on the transportation management system's abilities and shortcomings
This is a salaried PLUS bonus position.
5 years experience in carrier brokerage
College degree preferred but not required for a candidate with sufficient industry experience
Knowledge of general clerical work and office procedures; Proficient in MS Office, SAP preferred
