Duties Description This position is an integral member of the Division's senior leadership team and is responsible for the overall management of OCFS child care regional operations and related field activities. This includes the development and issuance of guidance and procedural expectations, oversight of enforcement actions and high-profile investigations, policy/regulation/statutory interpretation, and the provision of technical assistance. This position provides direct day-to-day supervision and oversight to seven regional office managers and overall direction to a workforce of nearly 400 state and contracted staff who are primarily responsible for oversight and monitoring of regulated child care (family day care, group family day care, school-age child care and day care centers outside of NYC).Other duties include, but are not limited to: directing and/or undertaking special project or liaison activities within the Division, representing the Division at public events and conference presentations, assisting with human resources and labor relations matters, staff training and professional development activities, collaborating with the public information office regarding media inquiries, business continuity planning, and serving as the primary conduit between regional and Home Office operational matters.This position will require travel to each Regional Office.Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 52.6 transfer.This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.Additional Comments Background Investigation Requirements:1) All prospective employees will be investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC), which includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks.
