This position is responsible for supervising non-exempt staff in the receipt, storage, order processing, stock records maintenance, labeling, packing, and shipment of materials, parts, and accessories for the assigned distribution center. Responsible for maintaining all operations within all output standards, establishing timing objectives, and controlling expenses within budget guidelines.A Day in the Life:
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventory control, issuing, and shipping materials and parts in the assigned parts distribution center. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Uses tools provided in the Warehouse Management System to continually improve part location assignments and enhance overall warehouse productivity. Identifies, recommends, and implements warehouse layout and operation improvements, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of parts or materials.
  • Management Accountabilities: Has nonexempt through journey-level exempt subordinates or contractors. Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training, and staff development; interviews and selects unit employees; plans and evaluates employee performance; recommends merit increases, transfers, and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time and attendance of subordinates.
Who We’re Looking for:Required:
  • One to two years in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees or contractors. This includes training new employees, assigning work, and checking the timeliness and quality of work. May have provided input into performance reviews.
  • Working knowledge of workflow management, logistics, inventory management, and warehousing functions
  • High school diploma or equivalent with two to four years of directly related experience with increasing responsibility.
