
Mechanical Engineer Intern

- Support and participate in technical mechanical engineering activities
- Responsible for completion of assigned tasks on time and meeting technical requirements
- Work closely with an engineering team to conceptualize systems and mechanical designs
- Perform both system-level and component-level design and integration tasks involving mechanical and electro-mechanical component-level tasks which include determining block diagram, detailed design and 3D modeling, simulation, debug & test
- Perform the design, development, modification, analysis, and documentation of various mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and design corrective modifications as needed.
- Develop custom fixtures for test, evaluation and manufacturing of mechanical equipment
- Provide progress status for mechanical design assignments periodically
- Participate in resolution of technical issues within the company and outside suppliers
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customers as required
- Conduct root-cause failure analyses of electro-mechanical components
- Use computer aided design tools to create and update integrated 3D CAD/CAM/CAE mechanical modeling and drawing solutions
- Ability to work independently under supervision of others
- May participate in preparation of less complex proposals
- Attend and participate in appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- High school diploma or GED, and working on Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
- Experience with using 3D modeling software such as CREO, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, Unigraphics, etc.
- Ability to read and understand commercial and/or military mechanical drawings
- Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
- Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools
- Preferred to have a minimum of 1 other related internship, Co-op experience, or industry experience
