- Conduct in-field testing of control systems for autonomous agricultural machinery, including electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, to ensure functionality and reliability. Validate autonomy applications for agricultural use, ensuring they meet performance and customer requirements in real-world farming scenarios.
- Perform in-field regression tests of new system software to verify functionality and identify issues. Diagnose and resolve issues in prototype systems, including wiring, hardware, and equipment mounting, to ensure operational readiness.
- Assist in commissioning new machines and test systems, collaborating with product support teams to ensure proper setup and functionality. Write, review, and execute detailed test procedures to validate system performance and compliance.
- Record test data, document issues, and communicate findings to the development team through detailed test reports.
- Ensure products meet customer needs and function effectively in their intended agricultural environments. Support the development and use of bench test fixtures to validate specific control systems, such as brake mechanisms, in controlled environments.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Agricultural Technology, Electrical Technology, Precision Agriculture, or a related field. Candidates with other educational backgrounds but relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years in a verification and validation role, preferably for agricultural or automotive applications.
- Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, hydraulics, and low-voltage electrical systems. Proficiency in analyzing test data and producing detailed test reports. Familiarity with operating agricultural machinery, including driving tractors.
- Strong understanding of agricultural machinery and industry best practices for safe and efficient operation. Ability to work from high-level objectives, troubleshoot systems independently, and conduct research to resolve issues during testing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and documenting findings.
- Valid driver's license required. Willingness to travel approximately 40% within North America annually, with seasonal variations (e.g., potentially exceeding 50% during Midwest harvest season and minimal travel in winter).
