Job Description:OverviewBig Sky Resort is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. Technicians are assigned to specific hotels or facilities within the Mountain Village Base Area and are responsible for executing day-to-day work orders submitted by Resort staff or guests. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong internal motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger maintenance team. This role involves exposure to flammable and hazardous materials, so adherence to safety procedures is essential.
ResponsibilitiesExecute a variety of maintenance projects in hotel rooms, condominiums, public areas, and employee-only spacesAssist with large-scale maintenance projects during the off-seasonCollaborate professionally with a large, diverse maintenance staffDevelop cross-departmental relationships to support timely issue resolutionActively pursue continued education, training, and relevant certifications
QualificationsGeneral maintenance knowledge across plumbing, carpentry, and electricalValid driver’s license with a clean driving recordWillingness to work weekends and holidays during peak operational periodsStrong communication skills and ability to self-manage tasksPhysical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Comfortable working on feet for extended periods
  • Capable of bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, and using ladders
  • Willing to work in both indoor and outdoor environments across all seasons
