The student learns and practices skills related to safety and sanitation on the worksite, customer relations, the preparation and serving of foods for customer consumption, and the use of food service equipment in a commercial kitchen. Teamwork, application of literacy skills, and time management are an integral part of the program. Skills will be assessed through participation in culinary events throughout the semester. Students will receive their food handler's certification. Interns will work on receiving their food handler's certification. They will plan, budget, and work catering events from preparing the food to service. They will also work concessions during lunchtime. This internship is ideal for someone interested in working in the food industry.Essential Functions
