- Escorts patients to the exam rooms and gathers information by interviewing patient. Accurately takes and records blood pressure, height, weight, temperature, heart rate, and oxygen saturation.
- Assists medical providers in the exam room and gives clear instruction to patients as instructed by provider.
- Ensures all reports, labs and patient information are filed and available in the patients' medical record prior to their appointment.
- Keeps exam rooms stocked, cleaned and organized with adequate medical supplies and maintains instruments and sterilizes equipment as required.
- Serves as a liaison between patients and/or staff and the provider.
- Maintains all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temps, glucometer logs, autoclave, etc).
- Perform waived testing, including Hemoglobin A1c, Urinalysis, Cholesterol, pregnancy testing, etc
- Performs EKG's; phlebotomy duties; injections; and collects urine samples as needed.
- Documents patient information thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following company policy and procedures under the supervision of the Health Center Manager
- Assists with patient referrals including follow up.
- Performs Reception and front desk functions as needed.
- Performs other duties as necessary and assigned
- High school education or equivalent required; associate degree preferred;
- Medical Assistant Certificate required.
- Some Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Maintains client confidentiality at all times
- Is respectful and courteous to all patients and co-workers
- Computer experience required, Microsoft Office preferred;
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to document in and navigate the EHR
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to multi task
- Ability to take accurate vitals

- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people.
