Job Summary:The RN works to achieve quality patient care and will provide patient care in the Emergency Room according to assigned shift. The RN shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include triage assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation as evidenced by documentation in the EMR, direct observation, and patient evaluations of care. The RN is responsible for patient care and is ultimately accountable to the Director of Nursing. Implements and maintains established Emergency department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Will provide patient care in the Emergency Room according to shift needs and/or where census is high.Performance Expectations:
Properly uses and operates equipment assigned including but not limited to: telemetry monitors, IV infusion pumps, accucheck and defibrillator.
Completes a thorough triage and physical assessment of patients.
Skilled in the use of central line care, IV insertion/care, phlebotomy and blood transfusions.
Consistently respects and maintains patient confidentiality.
Ensure appropriate communication and interaction with patient/families and visitors.
Must tolerate physically demanding tasks of moving equipment and patients utilizing safety measures for both yourself and/or the patient.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Embraces and practices “We Care” philosophy in all aspects of patient, visitor, co-worker and non-employee care.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Education/SkillsGraduate of a recognized non-online RN program required.Work Experience:One year emergency nursing experience preferred, but not required (applies to new nursing graduates).Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
