These devices allow us to restore movement to the paralyzed, restore sight to the blind, and revolutionize how humans interact with their digital world.Team Description:The Surgery Team is responsible for making sure Neuralink's various implanted devices get installed safely and efficiently. This means our job as a team is not limited just to the insertion of the implant's electrodes but instead to owning the full surgery experience of a Neuralink customer in a way that scales. The team works towards our mission of safely installing our implant through in-depth preclinical studies and clinical trials by conducting surgeries and diving into data analysis.Job Description and Responsibilities:As an Operating Room Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert and product specialist responsible for surgical case coverage in the Operating Room during surgery. Responsibilities will include:
  • Participating in preclinical animal studies and human clinical surgeries at Neuralink
  • Ensuring the surgical team follows strict aseptic techniques and guidelines, as needed
  • Anticipating the needs of the team members with respect to the requirements of a particular surgical procedure by reviewing surgery protocol preop and utilizing basic Operating Room role functionality
  • Overseeing, enforcing, and implementing safety procedures and protocol required in an OR environment
  • Collecting and compiling relevant surgical data for engineering and preclinical analytical review
  • Collaborating with surgeons and hospital staff supporting case coverage for clinical trials
  • Maintaining surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies
  • Completing end-of-day procedures, including restocking Operating Room as needed, cleaning instruments, and picking case carts
  • Providing feedback to design engineers at design-review level to ensure end-user feedback is captured
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing
  • 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • 3 years of experience working in an operating room
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Neurosurgery experience
Additional Requirements and Competencies:
  • Ability to travel to/from work in multiple states and internationally
  • Willingness to work in environments where potential exposure to animal/human bodily fluids, including blood, may occur
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Google Docs, Google Drive, and Gmail
Expected Compensation:The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also believe in aligning our employees' success with the company's long-term growth. As such, in addition to base salary, Neuralink offers equity compensation (in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSU)) for all full-time employees.Base Salary Range:$85,000—$141,000 USDWhat We Offer:Full-time employees are eligible for the following benefits listed below.
