Job Description:RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring Senior Construction Inspector to join our team in central Tennessee. As a Senior Construction Inspector with RK&K you will strengthen our Construction Engineering and Inspection team while leading complex and routine inspections on projects including highway, bridge, design/design-build projects. Opportunities for growth and training into construction management and office engineering careers.Essential Functions
  • Provide construction management support, including inspection, testing, and monitoring of construction ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Fully engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
  • Manage and mentor the activities of other inspectors
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
  • Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
  • Recordkeeping, materials testing, and reporting as required
  • Must possess high integrity and ethics in all aspects of dealing with clients, subconsultants, and peers
Required Skills and Experience
  • Ten (10) + years of experience in roadway and bridge construction
  • Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; and interpret construction plans, provisions, standards, and specifications
  • Ability to mentor, coordinate, and supervise inspection personnel in the field
  • Understanding of QA/QC development and execution process
  • Travel to job sites is expected, clean driving record
  • Experience with MS Office, SiteManager, and mobile devices
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Skilled in both roadway and bridge construction
  • Survey experience
  • Required TDOT certifications
