Use your passion to drive the MedVet experience for our clients and patients, as well as your teammates.We are looking for:Urgent Care Veterinary AssistantProposed Schedule: Friday and Saturday 12p-10pAre you someone who likes to be constantly moving from one thing to another? Our Urgent Care team is the perfect place for assistants who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can shift gears quickly and handle the stress of critical situations with ease. Urgent Care offers patients a skillful evaluation of those unexpected, non-critical needs when their primary veterinarian is unavailable, and offers immediate care for non-life-threatening conditions.What you'll do:Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessaryEvaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessmentPartner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concernsProvide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patientsAssist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and proceduresProvide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patientsInduce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation proceduresPerform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testingWho you are:Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desiredProficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessaryAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPerks and Benefits include:Shift Differentials and On-call PayUniform AllowanceEmployee Pet Discounts and Pet Insurance
