The Cyert Center at Carnegie Mellon University is a full-day early care and education program serving the children of our faculty, staff and students. Founded in 1971, we have grown from a program of 13 children to our current enrollment of 290 children across two centers.We are currently hiring an Infant/Toddler Early Childhood Educator to join the Cyert Center. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a strong passion for early childhood education, experience working with infants and toddlers, and the ability to collaborate with others.Core responsibilities will include:Educating and caring for young children (infants and toddlers), encouraging their individual growth and development.Organizing a cohesive program and communicates the Center’s philosophy (Reggio Emilia Approach and Developmentally Appropriate Practice).Assisting in creating a curriculum that uses inquiry-based teaching strategies with an emphasis on collaborative learning.Adhering to The Department of Human Services licensing regulations and The National Association for the Education of Young Children’s accreditation standards.Developing regular, ongoing, two-way communication with parents about children’s experiences, development, and learning, and participates in planning, organization, and dialogue/presentation for parent meetings.Committing to best practices and continued professional development and growth, earning twenty-four (24) hours of required professional development annually.Other duties as assigned.Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University.
