This position is an introductory accounting position on the Engineered Air Balance, Co., Inc. corporate team and is supervised by the Controller. They are responsible for learning and applying the concepts and practices of accounting and other finance activities. The Staff Accountant works in a team environment for planning, coordination, configuration, and execution while collaborating across departments and interfacing with management.Job responsibilities include:
  • Perform all aspects of accounts payable for the branch and corporate office including weekly check and electronic funds transfer (EFT) disbursements and vendor set up maintenance.
  • Record miscellaneous cash receipts and cash adjustments for operating account.
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements for various accounts.
  • Assist with monthly expense reimbursement process for branch employees.
  • Administering or assisting in the administration of payroll for the organization
  • Prepare and record general ledger entries and maintain/reconcile monthly subsidiary ledgers to balance sheet accounts.
  • Perform revenue and A/R reconciliations to tie balances to A/R and ledger accounts.
  • Compile, code and record transactions from corporate card charges and American Express
  • Assist the finance team with accounts receivable functions as needed, including issuance of lien letters to delinquent customers.
  • Update and maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
  • Determine and remit Sales and Use Tax.
  • Update and maintain branch property inventory lists.
  • Maintain updated W9's for vendors.
  • Follow all internal control policies and assist in company audits as needed.
  • Collect support for audit requests (financial, 401(k), benefits, etc.)
  • Keep up to date with changing rules and regulations by reading professional publications, personal networking and/or participating in professional organizations.
  • Protect the company's value of integrity by maintaining all sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in related field required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Experience with accounting software preferred (FreshBooks, QuickBooks, Trimble, Viewpoint-Vista)

  • Strong computer competency with knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of an organization.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving skills, with great organization and attention to detail
  • Mathematical and deductive reasoning skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
