As a Field Technician you will be maintaining our equipment to the highest quality. You will be performing inspections, troubleshooting and diagnosing problems, and making mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repairs both in the field and at the shop. You will also be responsible for reporting any issues or damages to the equipment manager. You will be required to provide your own tools. You will also be required to operate industry associated heavy equipment. This position will require you to accurately complete all assigned work in a timely manner.Primary Responsibilities· Operate equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates.· Complete all work in accordance with our quality of standards and safety procedures.· Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and locate mechanical problems on heavy equipment diesel engines and components.· Source and order parts as needed.· Determine the extent of needed repairs, including identifying major powertrain overhaul needs and prepare orders for required services.· Be able to use diagnostic equipment.· Repair and/or replace all components of diesel engines hydraulic systems, air conditioning handling, and operator comfort systems.· Perform welding and brazing, fabricate and modify parts, equipment, miscellaneous structures and attachments.Education and Experience:· High school diploma or equivalent· Minimum of 2 years mechanic experience· Course work from accredited trade school, college or university with emphasis in mechanics, hydraulics, and automotive electronics is desirable.Required Qualifications and Skills· Be able to operate a variety of equipment safely to diagnose, adjust, and repair malfunctions.· Follow all given instructions, read and understand operators and repair manuals.· Be able to work cooperatively with others.· Work with minimal supervision and keep required records.· Be able to read, analyze, and interpret technical information, such as schematics, technical manuals, technical drawings, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.· Operate equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates.· Have knowledge of complex hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems, arc and oxygen acetylene welding, test equipment used to diagnose and repair equipment and electronic components of vehicles.· Have skills in “basic” computer applications including email and internet usage.· Be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with coworkers and supervisors.
