What You’ll DoAs an HSE Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, driving a culture of safety, and protecting the health and wellbeing of our employees. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading planning, implementation, and coordination of accident prevention, fire prevention, occupational health, and environmental programs.
  • Providing safety, health, and environmental training to employees.
  • Conducting regular facility inspections, hazard/risk assessments, and incident investigations with corrective actions.
  • Enforcing all GEA production HSE legal requirements, including PPE assessments, incident reporting, and environmental compliance.
  • Organizing and ensuring annual execution of emergency response drills (fire, tornado, earthquake, evacuation, shelter-in-place).
  • Preparing, filing, and maintaining records, reports, and permits (EPA, OSHA, state, and local).
  • Auditing sites to maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Supporting the QHSE Manager in sustaining ISO certifications and driving continuous improvement.
Your Profile / QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For
  • Education: Two-year degree in HSE with one additional year of relevant experience or any two year degree and two years working in the field.
  • Experience: Experience in a chemical or manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, state, and local safety/environmental regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day.
  • Lift/carry 25–35 lbs. occasionally.
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments (PPE required).
  • Travel: Limited travel up to 10% to GEA production and shop sites across North America.
