Mark and the team behind this channel are focused on bringing incredible videos to the masses, helping people “Think Like an Engineer” and develop a love for science.What will you be doing?We are seeking a Sr. Data Analyst specializing in YouTube analytics to join our strategy team. The successful candidate will leverage their in-depth knowledge of YouTube, including analytics tools like YouTube Studio and essential metrics (e.g., APV, AVD, retention curves) to empower strategic decision-making.Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on YouTube analytics, including deep familiarity with YouTube Studio and metrics such as APV, AVD, retention curves, impressions, click-through rates (CTR), RPM, and more.
  • Lead the analysis and interpretation of complex data sets specifically focused on YouTube analytics.
  • Help in identifying macro-level YouTube trends, improving thumbnails and title choice, and generating actionable insights that influence strategic decisions.
  • Perform advanced data extraction, cleaning, and visualization, combining data from diverse sources including the direct use of the YouTube API and brand monitoring tools.
Qualifications:
  • Proven track record as a Data Analyst with a strong focus on YouTube or digital media analytics, possessing at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 1-5 years experience with YouTube Studio.
  • At least 1-5 years experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python)- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability in conducting thorough research, interviews, and assembling comprehensive, strategic reports.- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including manipulating and analyzing large data sets.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and software (e.g., Tableau, Streamlit) is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with the YouTube API for data extraction and analysis.
