It’s a great place to work and a beautiful place to live!Job Summary:The Food Services Assistant (FSA) performs all functions related to customer meal delivery under general direction. This includes but is not limited to preparing customer meals in the cafeteria, preparing patient meals as part of the tray line service, operating the cash register, dishwashing, maintaining stock inventory, and ensuring general cleanliness of the cafeteria. The FSA maintains sanitation standards in all assigned work areas.The FSA I is an entry level, on the job training position.The FSA II is the advanced level of the Food Services Assistant job class series. Incumbents assist in orienting new staff to their assigned stations and assisting with the coordination of duties during assigned shifts.Minimum Qualifications for the Job:Food Services Assistant I ($19.49 - $22.81/hour)Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience: Previous experience in institutional food service is preferred. * Certification(s): Must obtain an Alaska Food Worker Card within 60 days of hire.
  • Other: Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to read, write and speak the English language to interpret documents such as recipes, menus, meal tickets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and logs, and procedure manuals.
Food Services Assistant II ($21.22 - $24.96/hour)
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience as an FSA I at Bartlett or documented comparable experience in an institutional food service setting is required. Competency to advance to FSA II from FSA I assessed by competency checklist and performance assessment by supervisor.
  • Certification: Must hold an Alaska Food Worker Card or for new hires, obtain one within 60 days of hire.
  • Other: Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to read, write and speak the English language to interpret documents such as recipes, menus, meal tickets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and logs, and procedure manuals.
Please note: In lieu of fringe benefits, casual employees receive a $2 an hour casual differential in addition to their hourly base rate of pay. Casual employees will not be scheduled to work a full time schedule for more than four (4) consecutive months or more than 780 hours annually. Casual employees must work a minimum of one (1) shift within a 90 day period to maintain status and employment.Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.Practice Notices:
