
Estimator - Federal Government Construction $60M+ Maryland

- Develop and prepare conceptual estimates with minimal subcontractor assistance using limited preliminary design documents/information.
- Develop subcontract interest in projects and manage the subcontractor RFP process.
- Itemize trade specific scopes and prepare bid packages.
- Review and edit the bid or RFP content, check for errors, omissions, or inconsistencies, and ensure that the bid follows the client's specifications and guidelines
- Identify and address any risks, opportunities, or gaps in the bid, and provide recommendations and solutions
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the client and any external partners, and manage any conflicts or feedback
- Responsible for deciding the projected time frame needed to complete a project and additional factors such as labor needs, materials, budgets, and potential setbacks
- Compile reports and make presentations to project leaders outlining their suggestions for upcoming projects
- Estimate new and retrofit construction measures for projects
- Review plans and specifications to address RFIs and address conflicts
- Procure LEED specifications on various products to ensure compliance with customer preference
- The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or equivalent, bachelors degree a plus.
- Must have at least 5 years' experience in related field, preferably in construction.
- Must be willing to apply for a security clearance.
- Top Secret Clearance - preferred
- Proven track record of successfully estimating and managing projects ranging from $5 million to $50 million in value.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial construction practices, materials, and methods.
- Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software - bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting strict deadlines.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPE, CDT, LEED) are a plus.
- Base Salary: does range depending on experience, from 100-130k base
