- Develop and deliver high-impact communications for SSC and enterprise programs to support and enable mission success.
- Translate technical information and apply critical thinking into compelling documents, reports, speeches, briefings, media articles, videos, and graphics.
- Develop communication plans and strategies that support the goals and objectives of an acquisition program office.
- Develop media strategies, responses to media inquiries, write press releases, and articles to advance the strategic objectives of an acquisition program office.
- Coordinate the design and production of communication products and deliverables.
- Assist in coordinating, consolidating, analyzing, distributing, and monitoring action items, suspense, and responses.
- Ensure program office responses and audit deliverables are staffed via Directorate processes and are provided in form and content in accordance with program office, SSC, and higher Air Force, Space Force, and DoD policies.
- An active Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
- 15+ years of experience in government Public Affairs/Strategic Communication/Outreach fields.
- BA/BS in program/project management or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Products, especially MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to lead/ work with multi-functional teams.
- Advanced/Master’s degree.
- Strong ability to translate highly technical content into thoughtful, compelling, and effective communication products in support of Space Systems Command customers.
- Strong ability to apply strategic thinking, attention to detail and situational awareness towards communication products and deliverables.
- Knowledge of space acquisition processes, Congress and other relevant government organizations that impact acquisition program offices.
- Knowledge of the PPBE process, Congress, legislation, policies, regulations and acquisition related communication documents (i.e. R-Docs, acquisitions strategies, Congressional Reporting Requirements, GAO reports, IG).
- Strong knowledge of DAFI processes related to communication and strategic outreach.
- Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work closely with teammates and customers across internal and external organizations.
- Strong ability to think critically and synthesize information from multiple sources into comprehensive plans and document.
- Knowledge of Higher Headquarters, Air Force and Space Force, processes and procedures as it relates to their functional responsibility.
- Speak/write Air Force, Space Force and Space Acquisition terminology appropriately.
- Deep understanding of mission critical aspects of space acquisition.
- Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Goal-oriented, strategic thinker who is also willing to roll up their sleeves and execute tactics.
