We are actively seeking a Senior Linux/RHEL Systems Administrator for a contract-to-hire position in the Richmond, VA market. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining system activities to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of enterprise infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, configure, and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in production and non-production environments.
- Perform system enhancements, upgrades, and patch management.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain critical applications and system services.
- Troubleshoot performance, availability, and security issues related to Linux environments.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies in accordance with organizational standards.
- Support automation and scripting efforts to streamline system administration tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure stability and scalability.
- Provide documentation, reporting, and technical support as required.
- 7+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator, with strong expertise in RHEL.
- Proficiency in system configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with shell scripting, automation, and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security hardening, and system monitoring.
- Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (VMware, AWS, Azure, or similar) preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
