- Responsible for sales of Used and New Navistar products including light duty, medium duty and heavy-duty trucks as well as various trailer lines.
- Work in conjunction with Sales Manager and Marketing Department to identify possible markets, customers and develop relationships with new and existing customers.
- Demonstrate new and used vehicles which includes driving each vehicle.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all available equipment that may be added to the truck chassis.
- Provide service to “walk-in” customers, both inside and outside on the lot, as well as call-in customers to the dealership.
- Promote additional services and dealer support to meet customer/prospects needs.
- Develop timely and accurate proposals with qualified New Truck and Lease personnel.
- Analyze customer needs and determine needed specifications and sales strategies.
- Maintain customer database and submit daily call reports.
- Complete all reports/paperwork in established format as requested by management
- Other duties as assigned.
- A background related to commercial trucks and equipment, and sales, is not required, but beneficial.
- Ability to understand sometimes complex technical specifications and systems.
- Ability to drive a vehicle and obtain and maintain a commercial driver’s license along with all appropriate endorsement.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing within the department and other areas of the Company as necessary.
- Ability to interpret and work from oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work with a variety of customers in a courteous and cooperative manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to operate all office equipment necessary to accomplish job duties such as computers, calculators, copiers, telephones, etc.
- Ability to legibly document data for record keeping purposes.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work daily and as required.
