
Electronics Technician

- Prepares repair standards for systems or items of equipment of complex and conventional electronic equipment.
- Conducts research of technical literature and performance tests on the equipment in order to formulate specific requirements for incorporation into the repair standards.
- Outlines tests to be performed, test methods to follow, equipment to be used, and performance to be achieved on the required equipment.
- Specifies test equipment and recommends substitutes depending upon availability.
- Assists in development of Provisioning Requirements, Repair Concepts, Test Methods/Procedures and other logistic requirements.
- Address shop personnel requests for technical assistance with problems encountered with technical documentation such as Repair Standards, Technical Manuals/Orders, Modification Work Orders, etc.
- Work with engineers to solve engineering problems and incorporation of engineering changes. Assist engineers with analysis of all known factors to establish methods of approach for a solution. Analysis includes research of specifications and standards, both military and commercial for availability of material and services.
- Checks designs to ensure adherence of required application to drawing standards.
- Participates in creation of models, manufacturing drawings, and complete Technical Data Packages (TDP) and able to be point of contact for TDP development and issues.
- Coordinates with the Manufacturing Cell with regards to utilization of fabrication tools, equipment, materials and techniques.
- Develops cost estimates, including research of material, and development of man-hour requirements for fabrication.
- Use Enterprise Resource Planning System to create/maintain production data (labor hours, cost center number, setup time, etc.), inspection requirements, Bill of Materials, Material Masters, and fabrication routes.
- Two year Associate of Science (AS) Degree in relevant technical discipline from an accredited college or university. For example, an electrical/electronic technician would preferably have an AS degree in electrical or electronic engineering/technology
- Accreditation of educational institution must come from an institution recognized by either the United States Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Three years' experience as related to tasks defined in the job description.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
