
Release Train Engineer

- Oversees small to medium release trains with complex scope and interdependencies
- Facilitates the agile processes at the program/train level, including planning periodic reviews and planning sessions
- Handles communication and collaboration between Agile teams within the Agile Release Train (ART)
- Removes barriers and impediments to ART effectiveness
- Identifies enterprise-level continuous improvement opportunities and drive implementation
- Tracks and communicates key ART metrics, including impediments, feature execution progress, and business value delivery
- Collaborates with the appropriate teams to translate business strategy into technology strategy and ensure that capabilities required by the business are enabled
- Creates retrospective improvement roadmaps by analyzing all activities and actions that have previously been performed and finding ways to improve each process as a way of continuous improvement
- Understands which metrics are beneficial and should be tracked, how these metrics should be interpreted and how the project course can be corrected even if the findings are showing risks
- Understands the program's budget and how budgeting works within a SAFe environment
- Understands and operates within the Agile Release Train budget
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field and four (4) years of experience as a Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project/Program Manager
- Or High School Diploma or GED and eight (8) years of experience as a Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project/Program Manager
- Scaled Agile such as Agile Practitioner, SAFE certified Release Train Engineer
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach
- Must be able to effectively prioritize and assign work to meet deadlines
- Must be able to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical users at all levels of the organization
- Must demonstrate excellent leadership skills to manage various stakeholders effectively at the train and Solution level
