Job Description:ResponsibilitiesMental Health Tech – Men's Outpatient Program (CDL and passenger endorsement required)Turning Point Care Center has an opening for a full-time Patient Tech/Mental Health Tech (MHT). MHTs play a vital role in providing excellent care for our patients and are a member of the interdisciplinary team who assists in total client care through implementation of appropriate therapeutic approaches.
Provides direct patient care that includes providing transportation, monitoring patients and self-help groups, and facilitating program activities.
Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment.
Maintains accurate and complete data and records.
Communicates therapeutically and age appropriately.
Intervenes with suicidal gestures, inappropriate behaviors, elopements, etc., using proper CPI technique.
Therapeutically communicates with patients. Assists in developing appropriate boundaries and helps to develop social skills.
Directs/redirects behaviors, demonstrating appropriate behavioral consequences. Responds appropriately to impulsivity issues as they relate to age specific criteria.
Recognizes and communicates the physical and psychological status of the patients under their care.
This position's hours and days may vary. One (1) year experience in a patient related field, required.
One (1) year experience with psychiatric, trauma, or substance abuse patients, preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Further training/education in behavioral health and substance abuse, preferred.
Current Georgia Driver's License with:
no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years;
no multiple violations for driving without insurance;
no reckless driving/leaving the scene of the acciden or fleeing a police officer citations;
no more than 2 at fault accidents on record in the past 3 years;
no convictions for vehicular homicide manslaughter;
no DUI or DWI violations.
Georgia CDL with passenger endorsement is required for this position.
