JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILSJob Summary:Produces accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and other areas. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of techniques, principals and instruments and their inter-relationships as well as the physiological conditions affecting test results.Education:Position requires an associate's degree (A.A), or diploma program, or military laboratory training program.Registration/Certification/Licensure:ASCP, AMT, NCA or equivalent, preferred.Registry or Certification is required before performing Blood Bank procedures or working alone.Experience:Position requires 0-6 months related experience.Other Requirements:Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements.Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with customers and in promoting a positive service atmosphere.Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work.Additional Info:CalvertHealth (CH) offers all employees free parking, discounted meals, 403(b) Plan with employer match available and access to our Employee Assistance Program.
