POSITION: Quality Coordinator
EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION: Salary Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: (Lawrence)POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Improvement Coordinator will assist in managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the organization's overall quality program that includes all ARC entities and staff departments to identify trends, prioritize and recommend improvements, decrease duplication, and ensure successful Accreditation(s) compliance. The Quality Coordinator will also investigate incident reports, patient complaints, patient care issues, and other issues as requested by the supervisor, as well as completing other duties as assigned.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides quality mentorship and consultative services to organization in effectively achieving regulatory accreditation and organizational compliance for quality activities.
  • Organizes, compiles, and reports quality data for the organization to identify trends, establish priorities, and recommend improvement activities.
  • Performs comprehensive, concurrent, and retrospective reviews in a timely manner, using criteria developed and approved by the organization.
  • Reports findings to other departments such as operations, clinical, utilization review, infection control, and risk management.
  • Attends departmental meetings and other pertinent meetings to ensure the organization's overall quality plan implementation and compliance.
  • Keeps abreast of current accreditation standards and other certification standards as needed, and the latest quality techniques in health care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 3-5 years of quality experience in a healthcare organization
  • RN or other licensure preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance, nursing or related fie
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated initiative, ability to work with others, and good professional judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and organize time effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, professional ethics and team building.
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work being completed.

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT AND ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to read detailed health records
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office
  • Must have sufficient mobility to move around the office and the community
