Medical Billing Specialist - Emergency Medical Services (EMS)Full-time, On site – Phoenix, AZ or Santa Rosa, CA$21-$23/hrHealth Services Integration (HSI) strives to provide the highest quality revenue cycle and operational services to the air and ground ambulance industry by deploying superior technology and hiring outstanding people. HSI has offices in both Santa Rosa, Ca and Phoenix, AZ. This EMS Medical Biller position will work either out of the Santa Rosa, CA or Phoenix, AZ office.HSI is seeking a healthcare medical biller with customer service experience in collecting copays, communicating with patients for balances due, and heavy phone call volume. No previous medical billing experience required.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Private Pay insurance knowledge for ground ambulance
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid HMO Regulations and Billing Guidelines.
  • Basic Knowledge of Commercial, PPO, and HMO Regulations and Billing Guidelines.
  • Comfortable with calling to inquire about medical insurance eligibility, insurance follow up, or general interaction with insurance companies including requesting re-openings, redeterminations, and appeals.
  • Basic Knowledge of Medical Terminology, ICD -10 and CPT coding
  • Non-emergent (interfacility) heavy claims
  • Advanced computer skills, comfortable using multiple computer systems while navigating insurance websites.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with attention for detail.
