- Inspire customers through the conceptualization of new products for end use markets including their point of difference in customers' categories that use Ocean Spray ingredients. Develop marketing campaigns and sales tools, deliver customer or market presentations that showcase the opportunity with consumers.
- Develop, own and execute the annual marketing plan to include management of the marketing budget for trade and promotional events, advertising and digital content on various platforms including the ingredients website, and other project related initiatives that supports delivery of the AOP target.
- Collect, analyze and assess market intelligence relevant to the customer segments and define strategies to increase product relevance; champion new business proposals and showcase thought leadership utilizing up-to-date knowledge of markets, relevant consumer insights and analytics solidifying Ocean Spray's reputation as an trusted advisor.
- Execute integrated marketing campaigns (including product sampling, content, website, email, webinars) that drive market engagement over the plan year to drive awareness and generate sales leads for Ocean Spray ingredient products and solutions leading to sales conversion and ROI of the marketing spend.
- Identify market segment, category and consumer insights and develop compelling sales tools that demonstrate Ocean Spray as a thought leader in cranberry, dried fruits, and inclusions more broadly. Leverage these insights with the sales network for customer meetings with R&D and marketing to drive interest for cranberry solutions and shift the discussion from price to value delivered in the customer's application for their consumer target.
- With the sales network, conduct competitive analysis to monitor Ocean Spray's market share in key market segments across regions. Identify gaps on important product platforms, services or ways of working that Ocean Spray should respond to and work with functional leaders to deliver these improvements/ enhancements.
- Build and develop strong relationships with the sales network (regional sales leaders, KAM, and broker network) to maintain clear understanding of their priorities and objectives with key customers. Identify where direct marketing team can engage to make a difference in the customer relationship and future sales growth.
- As a leader, engage to coach, guide and influence direct report and influence team members to enable their best performance and ongoing talent development.
- Represent Ocean Spray Ingredients at trade events to promote the company when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
- Ability to develop a product launch project from concept to shelf, demonstrated by launching at least 4 products or services in food and beverage-related market within the last 3 years.
- Ability to develop brand and go-to-market strategy to create the right marketing plan to grow the base business alongside supporting new launches. At least 5 years of experience in brand execution with a solid understanding of consumer, customer, and shopper marketing levers
- 10+ years of experience in Marketing with at least 3-5 years in an innovation development role and 5 years in a brand execution role; Must possess working knowledge of both Brand Innovation and Brand Building practices and principles.
- Insights Driven. Must have experience using various types of syndicated data. E.g. AC Nielsen, LDIA, Dunnhumby, IRI etc.
- 5 years of experience with project management and stage gate type frameworks such as Compass, Agile, Sprint, and Product, Package and Price.
- 5 years of experience with New Product Development (NPD) including technical aspects (e.g., leading consumer research, developing claims, product design, regulatory/legal requirements, and navigating approval and product coding systems)
- Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), or related, or the foreign equivalent.
