This position is responsible to Lead a group of 4 for supporting a nationwide Home Delivery-HD/Final Mile-FM operation that manages 329 stores’ delivery needs to customers, for two of our larges divisions, with multiple contracted carriers including LTL, Parcel and Local Home Delivery/White Glove. This position is also accountable for ensuring that all final mile carriers comply with company performance, cost and safety standards. In addition to Home Delivery, this individual is responsible for HD/FM freight claims and store-to-store transfers. This position reports to the VP of Global Logistics for an initial interim period and will then report to the Manager of Domestic Transportation.
This job is located at Franklin, TN, it is an on-site job, Full-Time - 40 hours a week, some weekend coverage/on-call maybe required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a Core Primary Carrier program per Stores’ local markets, to support Store to
- Lead the Home Delivery Team and support the Manager of Domestic Transportation when needed. Monitor Carriers performance and efficiency, develop a score card to manage underperforming carriers and evaluate the need for changes or additional carriers to improve coverage as needed.
- Supports stores with delivery quotes for home deliveries, LTL and Small parcel shipments as needed.
- Build deliveries and shipments in TMS (Kuebix) and tender loads to top carriers with least costs but maintaining top customer service.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments:
- Work with Global Logistics Senior Business Analyst, to produce KPI analytics, to evaluate Carrier performance metrics and review with the Manager of Domestic Transportation and the VP of Global Logistics for process improvements weekly.
- Provide monthly carrier business reports to Global Logistics.
- Collaborate with stores to keep the customers happy with the home delivery service.
- Work with the Manager of Domestic Transportation to make decisions regarding additional financial costs and/or delivery exceptions.
- Work with Sr. Logistics Analyst to set up programs to monitor and evaluate all freight bills (including LTL, Parcel and FM) and oversee activity to accurately audit, reconcile and provide weekly reports for final approval to the VP of Global Logistics then submit to AP for payment.
- Maintain a claims freight filing process and execution strategy to recoup funds and
- Work with the Manager of Domestic Transportation to periodically update and improve SOPs to streamline processes throughout claims, home deliveries, store transfers and small parcel for both carriers and stores.
- Supports the VP of Global Logistics to ensure compliance with all domestic carrier contracts:
o Managing HD/FM department records with coverage amounts and policy dates when
needed.
o KPI reports, creating and maintaining carrier score cards for vendors.
o Follow up confirmed delivery dates and open orders pending deliveries.
o Maintain and approve rate exceptions as necessary.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of Home Delivery and Carrier network in local markets nationwide.
- Understanding of Home Delivery contracts, terms, insurance and conditions, etc.
- Working knowledge of delivery services in “big ticket” retail industries such as wood,
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and TMS (Transportation Management System).
- Ability to speak effectively and present information to carriers, vendors and other
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with experience collaborating with
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and solve problems, analyze, plan and lead and
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, resolve problems with a sense of urgency to meet customer needs.
- Ability to influence others, without the benefit of authority.
- Data and detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
