Reports to Manager. Performs x-rays according to physician order and decides necessary views for obtaining correct requested result. Educates and explains to patients what to expect from their X-Rays. Collects venous and capillary samples using defined identification and labeling procedures. Patient Care
Perform skeletal x-rays based on physician order.
Decide all necessary views for obtaining the results the physician is requesting.
Educate and explain to patient what they should expect from their X-Rays.
Acts as a double check to ensure proper area is X-Rayed.
Assists the nurse and physician in giving quality care to his patients and meeting their needs.
Room patients for visit with physician by gathering the patients weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature.
Assist the doctor with minor surgical procedures/medical procedures as needed.
Record the patient history and medical complaint.
Assist patient in preparation for exam, if required, gives injections.
Conducts patient education as needed.
Laboratory Procedures and Processing
Collects venous and capillary samples using defined identification and labeling procedures.
Performs specimen processing.
Centrifuges specimen.
Delivers specimen for refrigeration to await lab courier, pickup and testing by outside laboratory.
Performs urinalysis, urine pregnancy and other tests as needed.
Instructs patients on proper procedure for specimen collection.
Performs testing using defined identification and labeling and testing procedures.
Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing and maintaining records of patient test results.
Uses the correct lab for testing i.e. Lab One, SBMF Sterilize instruments.
Adheres to quality control policies and documents all quality control activities.
Cleans and restocks lab area, exam rooms and nurse's station.
Responsible for inventory and supplies for performing diagnostic exams.
Responsible for maintenance of equipment to ensure quality and safety.
Education and Maintenance
Responsible for continuing education and updates regarding X-Ray technology.
Maintain all necessary certificates and licenses.
Monitor and order supplies for X-Rays as needed.
Assist in calling for repairs and inspections as needed.
Leadership
Involved in new hire interview process and selection.
Responsible for training and orientation of new hires for all sites.
Demonstrates and explains difficult or new techniques and procedures to departmental personnel to ensure confidence of performance.
Responsible for scheduling of staff radiographers.
Addresses performance issues or concerns with appropriate management staff.
Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department
Completes other job-related duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of an Associate's Degree or Professional Training. Up to 1 year of experience required. Medical assistant and/or phlebotomy training or experience preferred.

Must be skilled in imaging technology for quality film results and safe operation of equipment.
Must ensure work in progress and information is always kept confidential.
Working Conditions
Works in a clean, well-lit office environment with controlled temperature and ventilation.
Works with bio hazardous material and is exposed to contagious diseases with protective equipment provided.
Varying exposure to unpleasant odors, fumes and toxic or corrosive substances with protective equipment provided.
Physical Demands
Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e. to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, to position/lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted, over 35 pounds requires assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.
