Position SummaryThe Department of Pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking an Assistant/Associate/Professor of Pediatrics with primary responsibilities in the Division of Children Health Services Research (CHSR). This position is ideal for a highly motivated clinician/researcher with a track record of research excellence. The expectation is to apply for funding to augment research support and gain a track record of successful applications. These are Full-Time Tenure-Track positions, both clinicians and non-clinicians are encouraged to apply.Children's Health Services Research, one of the largest and most active pediatric research divisions of its kind in the country, is recognized nationally for its innovative work and research services it provides to pediatricians throughout the state of Indiana. As a national leader in health policy research, analysis, and advocacy, CHSR faculty conduct research in four priority areas, including informatics, implementation science, community engagement, and systems & policy analysis. The core faculty actively serve on committees that generate local and national health care guidelines and frequently present research evidence to legislators, stakeholders, and organizations such as American Academy of Pediatrics to determine health policy. Children's Health Services Research is also recognized internationally for leading-cutting edge research, contributing to policy decisions related to children and health care issues. The division currently consists of 17 faculty members across 8 pediatrics subspecialties and general pediatrics.Children's Health Services Research strives to improve the health of children, families, and communities by:
  • Conducting collaborative and inclusive health services research emphasizing Community Engagement, Informatics, Implementation Science, and Systems & Policy Analysis
  • Translating evidence into practice and policy through bi-directional engagement with local, national, and international partners
  • Fostering an inclusive culture of professional growth, mentorship, and impactful team science
Embedded in CHSR is the Pediatric Accelerator for Careers Engaged in Research (PACER) which was originally established by a grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The purpose of PACER is to provide training and support for faculty who will engage in pediatrics focused health services research. Support within PACER includes mentorship, grant writing support, project management, and administrative oversight.Faculty members across a spectrum of early, mid to senior career trajectories are encouraged to apply. Leadership opportunities exist within the Division for mid and senior level faculty members with a proven track record of grant funded research within the priority areas of implementation science, community engagement, and systems & policy analysis.To learn more about CHSR, please visitIU School of Medicine is the largest medical school in the country, with more than 20,000 living alums and over 3,000 learners. Indiana Clinical Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) is available for collaboration and as a resource. The Department also has robust research relationships with the Regenstrief Institute in Health Informatics, Purdue Biomedical Engineering and Cook Biomedical in pediatric biodevices, and the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute in developing and testing orphan drug therapeutics. Riley Hospital is Indiana's only comprehensive children's hospital, with over 450 beds and 360,000 inpatient and outpatient visits in Indianapolis and 19 regional sites across the entire State.
