The core responsibility of the HVAC/Plumbing Inspector is to provide plan review and inspection services that maintain health and safety, are development friendly, focused on customer service, and are lean and efficient
- Work on harmonious teams with other inspectors, plan reviewers, and administrative staff
- Assist Project Directors and Project Managers in improving existing inspection and review systems
- Perform field inspections during various stages of construction
- Review plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects to ensure compliance with city, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Perform Rental Housing inspections in accordance with municipal ordinances and regulations
- Report violations and maintain files/records
- Build relationships with current and future clients to increase awareness of our work products
- Ability to use BS&A software a plus or ability to learn the software
- Must be licensed to enforce the State of Michigan Building Code, maintain registration as a code official with the Michigan Department of Labor, Bureau of Construction Codes, pursuant to Act 407,
- Other complimentary professional certifications a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment
- Ability to respectfully function as a productive and enthusiastic member of a team, under direction of Project Directors, and Project Managers
