- Design and analyze hydraulic systems for flood control and water management projects.
- Ensure all projects comply with FEMA guidelines and local flood ordinances.
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses.
- Prepare and review floodplain delineation studies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated water resource management solutions.
- Provide technical expertise on issues related to hydraulics and water resources engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Hawaii or ability to obtain.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, and design.
- Extensive knowledge of FEMA regulations and flood ordinances specific to Hawaii.
- Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS.
- Experience with floodplain and floodway delineations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
