Systems Data ArchitectCompany OverviewCyclyx International, LLC ("Cyclyx") is a pioneer in the plastic value chain, leveraging our proprietary technology to convert post-use plastic waste into high-quality feedstock for recycling. We provide customized solutions for brands and companies aiming to achieve their recycled content goals, actively supporting the development of a circular economy.Our state-of-the-art Circularity Center, currently under construction in Houston, TX, will be the first large scale facility in the United States, designed to process a diverse range of post-consumer, commercial, and industrial plastic waste. At Cyclyx, we believe that working together can drive meaningful change in the recycling landscape.Role OverviewUnder the direction of the Senior Director of Technology, you will design, develop, and maintain data systems and architecture to support our manufacturing operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize data collection, processing, and analysis to drive efficiency and quality improvements.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various manufacturing systems.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and IT teams to understand data requirements and design data solutions.
  • Maintain and optimize databases, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Create dashboards and reports for stakeholders to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to enhance data capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven experience in heavy industry or a manufacturing process as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL & TSDB's and experience with database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Influx, QuestDB).
  • Experience in developing data ingestion pipelines (Telegraf, Kafka, MQTT, Redpanda)
  • Familiarity with data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Flink) and data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance issues.
Experience/Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, or extensive industry experience.
  • Equivalent to five plus years increasingly responsible experience designing, developing, and maintaining data systems and architecture to support manufacturing operations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to optimize data collection, processing, and analysis to drive efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Possession of one or more of the following certifications is desirable: Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer and Certified Data Management Professional.
Position MechanicsReports to: Senior Director, Technology SystemsType: Exempt; Full-timeWork Hours: Flexible, but must be available, 8:00-5:00, Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend work.Location: Houston, TXWork environment: Primarily an office environment, but may also work in an industrial environment at times where the use of PPE is required.Travel: Minimal - Less than 10% as needed to meet with members and attend off-site meetingsPhysical Demand is substantially that of an office environment.
