Maintenance Worker Part-TimeWe have a direct hire opportunity for an experienced part-time Maintenance Worker at an established condominium complex centrally located in Rockford. The Maintenance Worker will work with area contractors and be involved in all aspects of maintenance and improvement to condominiums and common areas. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of minor electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry work, and be familiar with low pressure boilers and their maintenance and operation.Pay: $26.50 to $28/hour DOEHours: 20 hours per weekBenefits: 8.5 paid holidays/year, two weeks paid vacation after 1 year of employmentMaintenance Worker Responsibilities:
  • Respond to maintenance requests from homeowners
  • Make repairs in common areas
  • Replaces light bulbs, repair windows
  • Repair broken sinks, toilets and other plumbing in common areas
  • Manage grounds keeping duties such as snow removal in winter, lawn mowing and leaf raking in summer and fall; maintain/trim bushes in spring and summer
  • Inspects and repair electrical equipment and light switches
  • Keep records maintenance work
  • Order maintenance supplies
  • Paint both interior/exterior walls
  • Perform miscellaneous custodial work as needed
  • Trouble shoot mechanical issues in building equipment
  • Inspect heating and cooling systems
  • Performs basic HVAC maintenance
  • Collaborate with other maintenance workers to determine the best course of action for repair tactics
  • Coordinates/supervise contract workers servicing equipment on the property
  • Performs daily, weekly, monthly and annual checklists
  • Maintain trails and creek beds in woods
  • Conduct daily, monthly testing on pool
  • Test fire alarm system following required timeframes
  • Inspect facility and report excessive damage to Building and Grounds Liaison
Maintenance Worker Requirements/Knowledge:
  • Demonstrate skill with power tools
  • Ability to meet lifting requirements
  • Familiar with electrical and wired systems
  • Familiarity with the function and make up of HVAC systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints for renovation and repair purposes
  • Demonstrate familiarity with site precautions
  • Exhibit solid time management skills
  • Capable of adapting repair skills and mechanical knowledge to a wide range of requests
  • High school diploma or equivalent
