
Senior Stress Engineer

- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for stress analysis of composite primary structures (experience with metallic structures is highly desirable).
- Conduct detailed stress analysis using both classical hand calculation methods (e.g., Bruhn, Peery, Roark, ESDU) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
- Prepare and author certification stress reports; collaborate with FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs).
- Support and interpret structural testing activities.
- Clearly communicate and justify analysis methods, assumptions, and results to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering required; master’s degree preferred.
- FAA DER certification (14 CFR Part 23/25) is a significant plus but not required.
- Expertise in Finite Element Analysis tools such as NASTRAN and FEMAP.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with 3D solid modeling using CATIA V5—ability to manipulate and extract data from models.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Visual Basic (VB), or MATLAB is a strong plus.
