We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.SummaryThe Packaging Mechanic diagnoses packaging equipment problems, repairs minor and major breakdown of high-speed packaging equipment, sets up and installs all packaging equipment, performs preventative maintenance items, improves line efficiencies, and ensures all equipment is in safe working condition.Key Responsibilities
  • Performs processing equipment repair, overhaul, and troubleshooting of equipment; changes and replaces belts, sprockets, bearings, chains, motors, etc.
Evaluates equipment for performance, performs adjustments, replaces parts, etc. as needed to ensure uninterrupted processing of vegetablesPerforms routine and non-routine checks and preventative maintenance tasks established by the Maintenance Supervisor or ManagerFamiliar with proper start-up and shut down of processing equipmentAssists in overhauling processing equipment after the processing seasonPerforms other duties as assignedTypical EducationHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Relevant ExperienceExperience with troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems2+ years prior experience in a processing environmentOther Information
  • Good knowledge of Computer Systems.
  • Experience with troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic Systems.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks, be flexible and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment.
