We're in this together.Overview & Responsibilities:KOVR Sacramento is looking for an Assignment Editor to join the team!Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage newsroom assignments.
  • Monitor phones.
  • Coordinate logistics.
  • Monitoring scanners and social media.
  • Manage the dispatch of crews to stories and breaking news, using appropriate logistical and journalistic judgment.
  • Assist in finding stories with emphasis on our key brand points and tracking stories as they develop.
  • Deal with time and logistics to make sure the selected stories are covered efficiently with available staff.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 2+ years prior television news assignment editor experience is strongly preferred. However, a significant background in print reporting or radio news will be considered.
  • Newsroom experience.
Additional Qualifications:
  • You must have a passion for breaking news.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and make fast decisions.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
