- Assists execution of the environmental component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
- Helps prepare and implement Environmental Management Plans, associated environmental plans and procedures, and training program.
- Provides input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups to assure that environmental requirements are integrated within project planning and execution.
- Interprets environmental requirements and provides comprehensive assistance on plan preparation, risk assessment, and program execution.
- Researches moderately complex issues and regulatory requirements, performs studies and environmental assessments, and prepares documentation and reports.
- Provides support and guidance for environmental permitting, risk assessment, audits, and reviews involving site conditions, natural resources, cultural resources, and communities.
- Participates in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution.
- Participates in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, permitting agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Conducts inspections and environmental monitoring and sampling to identify risks, evaluate mitigation measures and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements. Inspection of field construction sites will require some travel (approx. 20%).
- Provides guidance regarding environmental mitigation, permitting, sustainability concepts, and protection of environmentally sensitive areas, species, and communities.
- Work with Client to establish permitting division of responsibility, negotiation with governmental entities/agencies.
- Review permits, permit conditions, and other regulatory commitments in light of BNI scope of work.
- Advise engineering and construction disciplines of the environmental requirements which need to be incorporated into the design, or field execution procedures.
- Contribute to, or create ES&H education/training curricula and classes regarding project environmental and regulatory requirements.

- Helps establish emergency preparedness and performs incident investigations.
- Participates in, or leads, meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, permitting agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to environmental sciences, field biology, or natural resources and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to environmental sciences, field biology, or natural resources and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Prior experience working on USA government, DoE, USACE, or DoD, projects.
- Hazardous materials and hazardous waste management experience including transportation and disposal requirements for wastes.
- Some Industrial Hygiene experience including health impacts of hazardous materials on personnel and appropriate mitigation measures to be instituted to protect personnel.
- General knowledge of air emission monitoring, dust monitoring, and combustion emissions estimation methodologies.
- Flexibility to perform some project health and safety tasks to augment the overall ES&H team as required, or by necessity.
- Master's degree preferred.
