Overview:We are seeking a Medical Surgical PCA II also referred to Patient Care Assistant or Med-Surg PCA II. A Med Surg PCA II will assist with patient care by supporting daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs while monitoring for any changes. ** If you have recently earned your Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License and have no prior experience, we encourage you to apply. Entry-Level CNAs are welcome to apply! Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, you may also feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output
  • Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses, you may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN
  • Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe
  • Assist in transporting patients within the hospital
Qualifications:Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preffered
  • Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.)
  • Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician preferred.
  • Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
  • Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
  • Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
