
Molecular Technologist I-II Plasmid

- Work within the Plasmid team and routinely perform mini, midi, maxi, and giga preps in a high-throughput setting.
- Transforming, picking and culturing E.coli colonies.
- Prepare glycerol stocks and plasmids for sequencing and quantifying DNA by O.D.
- Identifying and troubleshooting issues that arise during the production process.
- Record all actions in the status log, including the conditions and the concentrations of targets.
- Prepare media and all other required reagents.
- Labware cleaning and autoclaving
- Prepare final products for shipping
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team, meet goals for accuracy, production deadlines and throughput utilizing the company's proprietary gene-synthesis platform.
- Execute production protocols in accordance with established company procedures under the ISO 13485 standard. Maintain clear communication, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
- Stock laboratory with supplies in addition to cleaning and decontaminating laboratory instruments and work area daily
- Perform any additional duties as directed by Lab management
- Reports to Gene Assembly Manager/ Production Manager
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Life Science.
- 1+ years lab experience related to biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or chemistry.
- The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team. They should have a basic understanding of molecular biology.
- Familiarity with basic spreadsheet use, along with precise attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to protocols, is required.
- Work experience in a high-throughput laboratory, sequencing group, or genome center is a plus.
