
Accounting Supervisor

- Maximizes office productivity through developing efficient workflow and appropriate use of software applications.
- Oversees billing activities for the region and implements rate changes as required. Corresponds with Corporate accounts receivable department to resolve issues.
- Manages staff of accounting clerks.
- Maintains timely and accurate collections of accounts receivable balances. Ensures timely posting of cash receipts, work order entry, and makes and communicates adjustments as needed.
- Establishes, implements, and monitors effectiveness of accounts receivable collections policies and procedures. Recommends changes to maximize productivity.
- Assigns responsibility for legal action and collection of delinquent accounts, interfaces with outside collection agencies as needed. Monitors and manages efforts being taken before assigning bad debt status.
- May include coordinating of lien procedures.
- Creates and analyzes reports (queries and ad hoc) for managing department and meeting internal and external customer requirements.
- Works closely with local jurisdictions and local management regarding local reporting requirements.
- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work, assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Principles of personnel training, supervision, and evaluation.
- Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, and planning.
- Related experience in billing and collections management.
- Technical and professional principles, practices, laws, applications, and programs in position related area.
- Current developments and trends in areas of expertise.
- Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications and using data to inform and set priorities and identify challenges/opportunities.
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
