
Structural Engineer

- Lead the preparation of deliverables such as presentation materials, calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and cost estimates related to structural systems for commercial and governmental facilities
- Deliver complete, accurate, and coordinated project design assignments within time and budget parameters while satisfying client contractual obligations
- Perform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents and provide conditions assessments on existing buildings.
- Perform construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, construction inspections, and responding to client requests.
- Work independently and make technical decisions based on building code interpretation as well as company, client, and industry standard practices.
- Assist department in developing standards and maintaining current code and practice knowledge.
- Perform quality assurance/quality control checking of structural design documents developed by fellow engineers and perform interdisciplinary reviews.
- Mentor less experienced structural engineers and support career growth.
- BS in structural or civil engineering + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- U.S. Citizenship required, due to the nature of the work.
- Experience in use of 3d structural analysis software such as RAM Structural, STAAD, RISA, ETABS, etc.
- Master of Science degree in structural engineering.
- 6+ years of experience with an engineering firm designing structural systems for commercial and institutional facilities.
- Revit experience is highly desirable.
- DoD project experience and knowledge of UFC code requirements
- Antiterrorism/Force Protection and Blast Resistant structural design experience.
