Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County's only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care-from prevention through survivorship-will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This is Hope.A California registered technician who under the supervision of a Pharmacist, packages, prepares and compounds oral medications, Intravenous medications, and Chemotherapy/Biohazard medications. Maintains control procedures, performs inventory, and stock control.As a successful candidate, you will:Ensure compliance with USP 797 & 800 at all times.Utilize proper aseptic technique for all pharmaceutical mixing.Order, receive, and maintain accurate medication inventory.Coordinate with Specialty Pharmacies or manufactures for timely deliveries ofmedications for infusion.Performs routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning as required.Procure and maintain supplies necessary for daily mixing operations.Communicates effectively with all levels of staff. Fosters the development of teamwork within the department.Performs advanced prescription preparation.Conducts quality assurance audits.QualificationsYour qualifications should include:High School or equivalent or Post High School vocational/specialized training or Graduation from a foreign school of Pharmacy3 or more years of performing related duties as a pharmacy technicianLicensed as a Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of PharmacyGraduate from a Pharmacy Technician training programCertified Pharmacist Technician (CPhT) from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), preferredAdditional Information:Hourly Per Diem Rate: $35.055300City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.
