We are looking for individuals who have experience working in the mental or behavioral health insurance environment, who have 2-3 years of mental health credentialing and contracting experience. These individuals may have experience working in a hospital, large group practice, or provider office where they gained astute knowledge of the provider credentialing/clinic contracting process for several mental health insurance networks.Provider Credentialing Specialist Responsibilities:
- Review accuracy and completeness of all applications prior to submission
- Communicate with physicians and other providers in a professional and friendly manner regarding required documents and the status of credentialing
- Manage correspondence timely and effectively with insurance networks and client accounts
- Detailed documentation on all Credentialing Status Reports
- Communicate with team members regularly, ask questions as needed, and have a strong desire to learn
- Submit applications to join provider networks within 10-14 days of receiving provider credentialing packets
- Astutely and proactively follow up on all submitted applications to join payer networks
- Follow up with each payer network regarding the status of the application a minimum of once every two weeks
- Prepare credentialing reports and send to providers every other Friday
- Associate’s degree preferred
- Prior Authorization Certification Highly Desired
- Experience in mental health required (must have worked in an insurance setting for behavioral health or in a prior authorization or credentialing role)
- 3+ years of mental health physician credentialing and contracting experience with behavioral health payer networks
- Understanding of CPT codes
- Detail-orientation is a MUST
- Organizational skills are a MUST
- Excellent verbal, written, and customer service skills are a MUST
- Ability to work independently, meet deadline,s and be flexible is a MUST
- Ability to perform tasks accurately, efficiently, and meet deadlines is a MUST
- Proficient typing/keyboarding skills
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook is a MUST
- Ability to multitask is a MUST
- Complete understanding of HIPAA is a MUST
- $10 - $18/hour (Dependent on Experience)
