Terms of Employment: 10 Month Employee - temporary if hired after contractual start date for teachersReports to: Building PrincipalSalary: Current teacher salary scheduleMinimum Qualifications:
  • Meets certification requirements of the State of Delaware for Exceptional Children K-12
  • Strong content knowledge of Special Education.
  • Successful completion of Praxis II exams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) mathematical practices that inform instruction
  • Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies that are used during math interventions
  • Knowledge of RTI (Response to Intervention) processes
  • Reviews and analyzes achievement data to determine student and classroom level needs
  • Provides highly effective math instruction for small groups of students
  • Develops and differentiates instruction based on screening, progress monitoring, and accountability measures
  • Diagnoses, monitors, and documents the math progress of struggling students
  • Maintains accurate and complete records as required
  • Serves as a resource to classroom teachers and provides model lessons and assistance with lesson planning as needed
  • Communicates regularly with classroom teachers and parents to support efforts towards student achievement goals
  • Participates in PLC’s with classroom teachers as needed
  • Works collaboratively with principals, district staff, and math lead teachers to create a school-wide environment that fosters and supports math achievement
  • With notice and consistent with employment commitments, is available to students and parents, within reason, for educational related purposes outside the instructional day
  • Works cooperatively with all staff members
