Join us in our next steps.JOB DESCRIPTION:Job Description: The Mold Press Operator will be responsible for producing brake shoes to meet minimum requirements for production and quality. The operator is required to document production output by completing production forms and maintaining schedule supporting preventive housekeeping maintenance. The operator is responsible for keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe.Salary: $24.00 + $1.50 shift differentialEmployment Type: Union- Full TimeRequired Skills, knowledge, abilities:Physical Demands
  • Must be able to tolerate conditions of elevated temperature, dust, and draft.
  • Must stand throughout shift with continuous movement.
  • Must be able to tolerate lifting from the waist up of up to 30 LBS.
  • Must tolerate strenuous hammering while standing.
  • Must tolerate strenuous pushing, pulling, and grasping with both hands
  • Must be able to identify quality and safety issues at work regarding the product or equipment.
Required Education and ExperienceAchieved 100% correct answers on the written Briquette System Operator Review (waived if hired prior to 9/1/1980).Achieved 100% correct answers on the written Mold Press Operator Review.Be able to work overtime hours before or after regularly scheduled shifts or on weekends.Available to work any of the three shifts as needed.The anticipated wage scale for candidates who will work in West Chicago, IL is $24.00 to $24.00 per hour. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. New York Air Brake is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics.
