Casto Technical Services is a locally owned and operated, family business with over 60 years of experience serving building owners and operators.We are looking for an Experienced HVAC Estimator in Northern WV for our Retrofit & Installation Department!!SummaryAnalyze project plans and specifications to calculate the cost of retrofitting, installing, or repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Work with blueprints, material lists, and labor requirements to provide accurate cost estimates for clients. Assess project scope, gather quotes, and prepare detailed bids.Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing project documents:
  • Reviewing blueprints, specifications, and proposals to understand the scope of work for HVAC systems
  • Material quantification:
  • Determining the quantity and type of materials needed for the project, such as ductwork, piping, and equipment
  • Labor estimation:
  • Calculating the time and cost associated with installing or repairing the HVAC system
  • Vendor and subcontractor management:
  • Obtaining quotes and negotiating prices with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Cost estimation:
  • Developing detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, and other project-related expenses
  • Preparing bids:
  • Creating competitive bids for HVAC projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
  • Collaboration:
  • Working with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to provide technical expertise and ensure project success
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Technical school with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and 3 years related experience; or 5 years related experience or equivalent of education and experience
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including their design, installation, and operation
  • Experience: Experience with HVAC systems, commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within HVAC installation and construction
  • Analytical skills: Ability to analyze project documents, assess costs, and develop accurate estimates
  • Communication skills: Effective communication with clients, vendors, and team members
  • Mathematical skills: Strong math skills for accurate calculations and cost analysis
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate estimates and minimize errors
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to project scope, materials, or installation
  • Software proficiency: Familiarity with estimating software and other relevant tools
